No Extradition: Julian Assange’s Father and the Struggle for His Son’s Freedom

The journalist and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is a UK political prisoner. He has now spent nearly five years in prison at Belmarsh High Security prison in London while the US government attempts to extradite him on charges which could see him sentenced to 175 years in prison. Julian’s persecution is one of the great injustices of our time.

In this video Julian’s wife Stella Assange powerfully explains the magnitude of persecution being perpetrated against him. As the hip-hop artist and journalist Lowkey has said:

Julian Assange is not being punished for anything he has done wrong. He is being punished for everything he has done right. This is what they call no touch torture. Crucifixion in slow motion. And while Julian Assange is the instrument, what they are attempting to crucify is the truth, is the inner workings of the powerful.

The UK High Court will hold a pivotal hearing on 20-21 February, where Julian Assange's future hangs in the balance. I will travel to London on Tuesday to report on the hearing.
